You might remember a blog a few weeks back about one of my foster sisters, SueSue. SueSue is not a Pomeranian, we aren’t sure at all just what she has in her pedigree. She is about 12 years old, and is ready for the right forever home. SueSue was in the City of Los Angeles east Valley Shelter, and had been there two weeks past her due out date when she was rescued by southern California Pomeranian Rescue. She had a substantial tumor removed while she was in the shelter, and at last writing, we had just had the surgical staples removed.
SueSue has been doing very well and I want to share some pictures of her with you, now that her coat is growing back after it had to be shaved off. trouble with that is, SueSue is deaf and we don’t think she sees all that well either, so she thinks the camera is something to eat and gets up too close and we end up getting pictures of her nose, like this one:
So then mommy got the idea that we would try to teach SueSue to “Sit” and that didn’t go over too well either. since SueSue is deaf, it takes a lot of patience and trying to get her to understand a hand signal and connect it to sitting. She ate half the bag of dog treats and still didn’t get it.
Now I am still working on being nicer to other dogs, so mommy got the bright idea to get us to sit together and she could get a picture of us being nice to one another. We wouldn’t look at the camera, instead we just looked every which way except at the camera:
Finally, after a lot of pictures that we can’t use, like me growling at SueSue or SueSue trying to jump off the chair, we got one with both of us looking at the camera, sort of:
This is hard stuff, getting dogs to pose! Wasn’t there some famous actor who said something about never working with dogs and children if you want to be successful in showbiz? I think we know what he meant by that. One more try and this is as good as it got:
After a while mommy just got very frustrated with the both of us and decided this was just not going to work, and the blog for this week is ruined. We were just not cooperating and that was that, and she stomped out of the room.
So, I had to finish the blog all by myself and guess what….I got the last laugh: I got to eat all the crumbs that SueSue left on the floor. Thanks, SueSue!
