If there’ no indication of the missing firefighter tonight browse efforts are going to be scaled back. teams will be minimized to 15 rather than the 90 that were out this morning. Herdman was last seen on June 13, he disappeared while backpacking in the Los Padres national forest north of Fillmore.

Herdman was camping with a buddy when fight it out took off. Herdman ran off into the woods barefoot after fight it out as well as hasn’t been seen since.  fight it out had been identified several times over the past week, the teams were hoping he’d be able lead them to Herdman.  fight it out was caught earlier today at the begin of the path – 12 miles from where he was last seen just a few days ago.

Los Padres national forest is twice the size of the Grand Canyon.  teams have been browsing a 50 square mile radius for the past week. 90 searchers specialized in browse as well as rescue were out this morning continuing the search. a number of unmanned aircrafts with cameras as well as drones have been used this week in the browse effort.

Right now it’s still thought about a rescue objective rather than a recovery. Herdman’s buddies as well as household are hopeful that his experience as well as training in the outdoors will keep him risk-free up until he can be rescued. checked out a lot more at LA Times.

Update 7/1 – regrettably the body of Mike Herdman was found after a almost two week search. prayers to his household as well as friends.
